Are there any temporary side effects after blepharoplasty?

Following surgery, some temporary side effects are expected as the body heals. Common issues include numb eyelids, swelling, bruising and mild discomfort. These typically improve within the first two weeks.

The periorbital area, also known as the periocular area, is the skin and tissues surrounding the eyes, including the eyelids, brow area, and the area around the corners of the eyes. Periorbital rejuvenation refers to treatments aimed at improving the appearance of the skin and around the eyes, addressing issues like wrinkles and sagging.

Blepharoplasty recovery varies for each patient, but most people notice significant improvements within two weeks. Swelling and bruising gradually subside and full results develop over several months. Following the aftercare advice helps to support a smoother recovery.

Blepharoplasty is designed to address excess skin and puffiness around the eyes, but it does not directly correct sagging eyebrows. If brow position is a concern, additional treatments such as a brow lift may be recommended to achieve the best results.
